Pour lui, l&rsquo;effondrement probable de la Tech dans les prochaines ann\u00e9es est une bonne chose, et permettra d&rsquo;envisager de v\u00e9ritables solutions aux d\u00e9fis environnementaux et soci\u00e9taux auxquels nous faisons face. Il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;un changement de mentalit\u00e9 total et non d&rsquo;une vision simpliste et technosolutionniste qui selon lui est vou\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chec. Pour cela, je remonte \u00e0 Gutenberg et \u00e0 l\u2019invention de l&rsquo;imprimerie pour expliquer <strong>les trois piliers fondamentaux de la Tech<\/strong>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Le premier est le\u00a0<strong>design centr\u00e9 utilisateur<\/strong>. C&rsquo;est la capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 partir des v\u00e9ritables probl\u00e8mes de l&rsquo;utilisateur pour remonter vers la solution technique, et non l&rsquo;inverse. La Tech a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 cela de mani\u00e8re intense, allant parfois jusqu&rsquo;au design d&rsquo;influence.<\/li>\n<li>Le deuxi\u00e8me pilier de la Tech est celui de la <strong>disruption<\/strong>, que je d\u00e9finis comme un usage radical de technologies existantes. L&rsquo;exemple de Gutenberg est parlant : il a combin\u00e9 des caract\u00e8res mobiles invent\u00e9s 500 ans plus t\u00f4t avec une presse \u00e0 vin, n&rsquo;inventant r\u00e9ellement que l&rsquo;encre. La Tech fait de m\u00eame aujourd&rsquo;hui avec l&rsquo;usage de l&rsquo;exc\u00e9dent de capacit\u00e9. Airbnb permet de louer un stock de logements vides existant, Uber ou Blablacar de louer des stocks de voitures, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Le troisi\u00e8me \u00e9l\u00e9ment est la\u00a0<strong>capacit\u00e9 de passage \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle<\/strong>. C&rsquo;est un d\u00e9veloppeur de niveau moyen qui utilise le m\u00eame \u00e9quipement que nous tous. Sa force r\u00e9side dans sa\u00a0<strong>cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9<\/strong>\u00a0et surtout dans sa <strong>capacit\u00e9<\/strong> \u00e0 appliquer rigoureusement une m\u00e9thodologie<a href=\"https:\/\/www.founderoo.co\/playbooks\/pieter-levels-success-story\">.<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Il l&rsquo;applique de mani\u00e8re radicale : il a cr\u00e9\u00e9 environ 70 sites diff\u00e9rents, lance ses id\u00e9es rapidement. M\u00eame si seuls cinq de ces sites ont vraiment fonctionn\u00e9, Levels g\u00e9n\u00e8re plusieurs millions de dollars par an tout en maintenant un style de vie \u00e9quilibr\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Certains diront que c&rsquo;est l&rsquo;exception qui confirme la r\u00e8gle, car il y en a peu comme lui. Mais il\u00a0<strong>incarne parfaitement<\/strong>\u00a0ce mod\u00e8le que je ne voulais pas limiter aux g\u00e9ants comme Amazon, Google ou Apple.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Une erreur commune consiste \u00e0 tenter d\u2019expliquer la transformation num\u00e9rique \u00e0 travers ces g\u00e9ants auxquels personne ne peut s&rsquo;identifier. Le moment r\u00e9v\u00e9lateur fut en 2011, quand le PDG de Nokia a annonc\u00e9 \u00e0 ses \u00e9quipes qu&rsquo;ils n&rsquo;avaient pas \u00e9t\u00e9 battus par de meilleurs produits. Les leurs \u00e9taient probablement les meilleurs et ils en vendaient un milliard par an. Ils \u00e9taient <strong>challeng\u00e9s par un \u00e9cosyst\u00e8me<\/strong> et par des acteurs capables de mobiliser toute une cha\u00eene de valeur, des sous-traitants aux concurrents.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Car cette culture de\u00a0<strong>coop\u00e9tition<\/strong>\u00a0est particuli\u00e8re \u00e0 la Tech. On aide m\u00eame ses concurrents, comme Google avec Apple pour Google Maps. Cette approche vient de la culture des d\u00e9veloppeurs et des math\u00e9maticiens : collaborer d&rsquo;abord, se faire concurrence ensuite.<\/p>\n<h3>La Culture joue aussi un r\u00f4le d\u2019innovation important dans la Tech<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>SS.<\/strong> Elle joue un r\u00f4le <strong>fondamental<\/strong>\u00a0dans la capacit\u00e9 d&rsquo;innovation technologique.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dans le livre, je pose une question\u00a0<strong>essentielle<\/strong>\u00a0: pourquoi les institutions publiques n&rsquo;ont-elles pas d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 des services comme Airbnb ou Facebook ?<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les villes auraient en effet pu cr\u00e9er leurs propres plateformes de partage de logements. La Poste aurait pu inventer l&#8217;email. L&rsquo;\u00c9ducation nationale aurait pu concevoir Wikip\u00e9dia. Ces institutions ont pourtant plut\u00f4t\u00a0<strong>privil\u00e9gi\u00e9<\/strong>\u00a0le mod\u00e8le de la r\u00e9volution industrielle, bas\u00e9 sur le monopole et le contr\u00f4le centralis\u00e9. Cette diff\u00e9rence s&rsquo;explique par deux approches culturelles distinctes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le mod\u00e8le public traditionnel d\u2019une part avec son amour du <strong>contr\u00f4le centralis\u00e9<\/strong>, la <strong>monopolisation<\/strong>\u00a0des services et la <strong>distribution verticale<\/strong> de l&rsquo;information. \u00c0 l\u2019oppos\u00e9, on trouve la culture de la Tech avec la <strong>d\u00e9centralisation<\/strong>\u00a0des services, la <strong>connexion directe<\/strong> entre utilisateurs et l\u2019<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/visionarymarketing.com\/fr\/2008\/02\/18\/innovation-collaborative\/\">innovation collaborative<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le\u00a0<strong>d\u00e9fi actuel<\/strong>\u00a0est de repenser l&rsquo;utilisation de la technologie par les institutions publiques, non pas pour la publicit\u00e9, mais pour sa fonction premi\u00e8re : <strong>relier les individus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cette approche pourrait permettre de r\u00e9soudre des probl\u00e8mes environnementaux, de mobilit\u00e9 et d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie que les m\u00e9thodes traditionnelles ne peuvent pas g\u00e9rer. Le syst\u00e8me actuel montre des signes d&rsquo;<strong>essoufflement<\/strong>, notamment avec l&rsquo;<strong>autog\u00e9n\u00e9ration de contenus<\/strong> et les d\u00e9fis r\u00e9glementaires.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Comme pour les monopoles historiques (Bell Labs, Windows), une transformation est in\u00e9vitable<\/strong>. L&rsquo;enjeu est maintenant d&rsquo;orienter cette transformation vers des objectifs positifs pour la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 et l&rsquo;environnement.<\/p>\n<h3>Vous dites dans le livre que la Tech va imploser. Comment cela\u00a0?<\/h3>\n<p><strong>SS.<\/strong> Le mod\u00e8le actuel montre des signes de saturation pour trois raisons principales.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>D&rsquo;abord, la\u00a0<strong>saturation des r\u00e9seaux <\/strong>et l&rsquo;\u00e9puisement du mod\u00e8le de gratuit\u00e9 financ\u00e9e par la publicit\u00e9. L\u2019\u00e9volution est douce, mais elle est in\u00e9luctable\u00a0;<\/li>\n<li>Ensuite, l&rsquo;<strong>intelligence artificielle g\u00e9n\u00e9rative <\/strong>qui va autosaturer le Web de contenus, cr\u00e9ant une course \u00e0 l&rsquo;armement entre syst\u00e8mes de d\u00e9tection et de cr\u00e9ation\u00a0;<\/li>\n<li>Enfin, la\u00a0<strong>mont\u00e9e en puissance de la r\u00e9glementation<\/strong>, notamment au niveau europ\u00e9en. Plus personne n&rsquo;est na\u00eff vis-\u00e0-vis des acteurs du num\u00e9rique en pensant, que le num\u00e9rique ce n\u2019est pas dangereux, et que ces grands leaders vont s&rsquo;autor\u00e9guler.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Je plaide pour un usage raisonn\u00e9 de la technologie, dans tous les cas pour un usage utile. Il faut utiliser les trois piliers que j&rsquo;\u00e9voquais tout \u00e0 l&rsquo;heure, afin de <strong>r\u00e9soudre les probl\u00e8mes qui nous emp\u00eachent de r\u00e9aliser la r\u00e9volution \u00e9cologique<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Tech et int\u00e9r\u00eat g\u00e9n\u00e9ral vs vision techno solutionniste<\/h3>\n<p><strong>SS.<\/strong> C\u2019est la vision de Bill Gates dans son livre How to Avoid a Climate Disaster. Je la qualifie d&rsquo;<strong>h\u00e9mipl\u00e9gique<\/strong>. Son analyse des 51 milliards de tonnes de CO2 est pertinente, et son approche d&rsquo;investisseur est int\u00e9ressante. Mais il refuse de consid\u00e9rer les changements de comportements. Il croit uniquement aux solutions technologiques, comme disposer de produits d\u00e9carbon\u00e9s au m\u00eame prix que les produits carbon\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La v\u00e9ritable solution r\u00e9side dans <strong>la combinaison des approches technologiques et comportementales<\/strong>. Si nous avons des v\u00e9hicules moins polluants <strong>ET<\/strong> que nous les partageons tout en r\u00e9duisant les kilom\u00e8tres inutiles, alors l&rsquo;effet multiplicateur devient int\u00e9ressant.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sous cet angle, je suis optimiste sur la capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 faire de grands progr\u00e8s.<\/p>\n<h3>Comment le num\u00e9rique pourrait-il r\u00e9soudre ces probl\u00e8mes complexes ?<\/h3>\n<p><strong>SS.<\/strong> Les probl\u00e8mes complexes, ou \u00ab\u00a0 <strong>wicked problems\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong> en anglais sont des probl\u00e8mes qui r\u00e9sistent aux solutions simples. L&rsquo;approche actuelle consiste \u00e0 traiter les probl\u00e8mes isol\u00e9ment. C\u2019est ce que j&rsquo;appelle l&rsquo;approche SaaS et c\u2019est insuffisant.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ces probl\u00e8mes vicieux donnent toujours naissance \u00e0 de nouveaux probl\u00e8mes quand on essaie de les r\u00e9soudre avec des solutions simplistes.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nous devons au contraire <strong>d\u00e9velopper une v\u00e9ritable science du probl\u00e8me<\/strong>, consid\u00e9rer les interactions syst\u00e9miques. Il ne suffit pas d&rsquo;\u00eatre une \u00ab\u00a0start-up for good\u00a0\u00bb pour r\u00e9soudre ces d\u00e9fis. <strong>Il faut repenser notre approche et cr\u00e9er des coalitions entre acteurs divers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Tech et int\u00e9r\u00eat g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, finir sur une note positive<\/h3>\n<p>En effet, car malgr\u00e9 les probl\u00e8mes actuels du mod\u00e8le Tech &#8211; notamment la\u00a0<strong>gratuit\u00e9 financ\u00e9e par la publicit\u00e9<\/strong>&#8211; nous ne devons pas rejeter ces outils. L&rsquo;enjeu est de les utiliser diff\u00e9remment, ensemble, au service de l&rsquo;int\u00e9r\u00eat g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. C&rsquo;est ce que j&rsquo;appelle l&rsquo;<strong>innovation de mission<\/strong>. C\u2019est une approche qui permet de sortir de la vision binaire entre techno solutionnisme et rejet total de la Technologie.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">C\u2019est ce que j&rsquo;ai essay\u00e9 de d\u00e9montrer dans ce livre. J&rsquo;esp\u00e8re donner envie, ouvrir des possibilit\u00e9s. La Tech a d\u00e9montr\u00e9 sa capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 transformer des pans entiers de notre \u00e9conomie.
