L&rsquo;usage du courrier \u00e9lectronique, dont je d\u00e9nonce les <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sam-mag.com\/archives\/e-mail2.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">abus r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement depuis plus de 10 ans<\/a> (voir <a href=\"https:\/\/www.slideshare.net\/ygourven\/fr-lusage-du-mail-professionnel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sur Slideshare la pr\u00e9sentation dite du Hamster<\/a>, et <span class=\"removed_link\" title=\"https:\/\/visionarymarketing.com\/articles\/emailusage-1.html\">l&rsquo;analyse de l&rsquo;usage du mail sur mon site Web<\/span>) a aussi des effets collat\u00e9raux en termes d&#8217;empreinte \u00e9cologique. Un chiffre de 507 milliards est anticip\u00e9 pour 2013.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Les sc\u00e9narii ont montr\u00e9 que chaque collaborateur d\u2019une entreprise fran\u00e7aise de 100 personnes re\u00e7oit en moyenne 58\u00a0courriels et en envoie en moyenne 33 par jour, dont la taille moyenne est d\u2019environ 1\u00a0Mo. Ces envois de courriels entra\u00eenent des \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre. Sur la base de 220 jours ouvr\u00e9s par an, ces derni\u00e8res repr\u00e9sentent 13,6 tonnes \u00e9quivalent CO<span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\">2<\/span>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>R\u00e9duire de 10\u00a0% l\u2019envoi de courriels incluant syst\u00e9matiquement son responsable et un de ses coll\u00e8gues au sein d\u2019une entreprise de 100 personnes permet un gain d\u2019environ 1 tonne \u00e9quivalent CO<span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\">2<\/span> sur l\u2019ann\u00e9e (soit environ 1 aller-retour Paris\/New-York).<\/strong>Le cas sp\u00e9cifique d\u2019une entreprise fran\u00e7aise dans laquelle un employ\u00e9 envoie un courriel de 1 Mo \u00e0 plusieurs destinataires : 10 personnes puis 100 personnes, a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tudi\u00e9. Les r\u00e9sultats ont montr\u00e9 que d\u00e9cupler le nombre de destinataires multipliait par 4 l\u2019impact sur le changement climatique.<br \/>\nPour obtenir des donn\u00e9es plus pr\u00e9cises, les scenarii ont mesur\u00e9 la diff\u00e9rence d\u2019impact de l\u2019envoi d\u2019un courriel de 1\u00a0Mo \u00e0 1, 2 ou 3 destinataires. Environ 6 g \u00e9quivalent CO<span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\">2<\/span>suppl\u00e9mentaires sont \u00e9mis pour chaque destinataire suppl\u00e9mentaire, ce qui repr\u00e9sente environ 44 kg \u00e9quivalent CO<span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\">2<\/span> par an et par employ\u00e9.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Diminuer de 10\u00a0% le taux d\u2019impression des courriels re\u00e7us par les employ\u00e9s d\u2019une entreprise de 100\u00a0personnes permet d\u2019\u00e9conomiser 5 tonnes \u00e9quivalent CO<span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\">2<\/span> sur un an (soit l\u2019\u00e9quivalent d\u2019environ 5 allers-retours New-York\/Paris).<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nLes scenarii ont compar\u00e9 l\u2019impact de l\u2019impression d\u2019une pi\u00e8ce jointe de 4 pages sous diff\u00e9rents formats et constat\u00e9 que l\u2019impression a une forte influence sur le potentiel de changement climatique, tout comme le format d\u2019impression s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9.<br \/>\nLes scenarii ont aussi montr\u00e9 que les impacts de la lecture \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cran d\u2019un document re\u00e7u par courriel sont li\u00e9s au temps de lecture, qui d\u00e9termine le temps d\u2019utilisation de l\u2019ordinateur.<\/li>\n<li><strong>L\u2019impact du stockage des courriels et des pi\u00e8ces jointes associ\u00e9es sur un serveur est un enjeu important : plus le courriel est conserv\u00e9 longtemps sur un serveur, plus il a un impact n\u00e9gatif sur le potentiel de changement climatique. Son r\u00f4le dans l\u2019\u00e9puisement du potentiel des ressources fossiles est \u00e9galement accru.<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nPour parvenir \u00e0 cette conclusion, les scenarii ont compar\u00e9 l\u2019envoi d\u2019un courriel de 1 Mo \u00e0 une personne, l\u2019envoi d\u2019un courriel de 1 Mo \u00e0 une personne qui le sauvegarde pendant 6 mois sur son serveur, l\u2019envoi d\u2019un courriel de 1 Mo \u00e0 une personne qui le sauvegarde pendant 3 mois sur son serveur avant suppression.
