Alors que le projet permet (pour ceux qui ont un compte Gmail) de lire jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 deux pages par ourvrage, il n&rsquo;est pas possible de lire les ouvrages en ligne, ceci afin de prot\u00e9ger les droits de publication. Mais vous ne serez pas capables d&rsquo;en lire plus de 2 pages de l&rsquo;introduction. Voici donc un outil redoutable pour les citations.<\/p>\n<p>Mais inutile de les chercher dans une autre langue que l&rsquo;Anglais, bien que les oeuvres de nos grands auteurs soient \u00e9galement pr\u00e9sentes en version traduite, ce qui vaut mieux que rien. Il suffit donc de taper une citation (ex: \u00ab\u00a0What is essential is invisible to the eye\u00a0\u00bb pour le Petit Prince de Saint Exup\u00e9ry), et le r\u00e9sultat appara\u00eet en surbrillance (voir ici pour l&rsquo;exemple cit\u00e9) La France ne serait pas en reste &#8211; selon JN Jeannerey, le patron de la BNF &#8211; qui dans <a href=\"https:\/\/www.silicon.fr\/getarticle.asp?id=11823\">un article de Silicon.fr publi\u00e9 le 06 octobre<\/a>, pr\u00e9cise que le projet Gallica aurait d\u00e9j\u00e0 permis la num\u00e9risation de 80 000 ouvrages.<\/p>\n<p>M. Jeannerey pr\u00e9cise que le budget de Gallica (<a href=\"https:\/\/gallica.bnf.fr\/\"> visible en ligne ici<\/a>) ne dispose quant \u00e0 lui que d&rsquo;un budget limit\u00e9. Cependant, on pr\u00e9cisera aussi que la m\u00e9thode est diff\u00e9rente. Dans un souci d&rsquo;universalit\u00e9 bien fran\u00e7ais, la notion de &lsquo;m\u00e9moire&rsquo; est \u00e9tendue non seulement \u00e0 l&rsquo;ensemble de l&rsquo;oeuvre \u00e9crit, mais aussi aux revues et publications. Ainsi, on y trouve non seulement le Tartuffe dans ses versions diverses (exemple) mais aussi des num\u00e9ros de La Croix (inutile d&rsquo;y chercher Fluide Glacial ou Charlie Hebdo ) et aussi des extraits passionnants des annales de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 d&rsquo;agriculture de la Charente entre 1827-1829.<\/p>\n<p>Si l&rsquo;on salue la disponibilit\u00e9 des ouvrages en pdf (la BNF serait elle moins soucieuse que Google de prot\u00e9ger les \u00e9diteurs ?), on pourra cependant se poser la question de savoir si le mieux n&rsquo;est pas l&rsquo;ennemi du bien et que si le budget est limit\u00e9, on pourrait arguer que l&rsquo;urgence serait plut\u00f4t de faire rayonner la culture fran\u00e7aise, but initial de l&rsquo;op\u00e9ration, plut\u00f4t que les annales de la Charente (encore que ces derni\u00e8res aient certes une utilit\u00e9 pour les historiens locaux ou sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s en histoire de l&rsquo;agriculture, ne le nions pas).<\/p>\n<p>Il y a dans tout \u00e7a un c\u00f4t\u00e9 artisanal, un match in\u00e9gal entre un Goliath impeccable et norm\u00e9 et un David aux petits pieds, qui peut faire sourire. Mais ne soyons pas chagrins, cette fantaisie charmante, c&rsquo;est aussi ce qui fait notre particularisme, cet amateurisme institutionnalis\u00e9, fort sympathique, face \u00e0 l&rsquo;implacable froidure de la proc\u00e9dure automatis\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>Ne nions pas notre plaisir, et plongeons nous derechef dans les annales de l&rsquo;agriculture Charentaise, o\u00f9 on y d\u00e9couvre \u00e0 la page 100, un texte sur la destruction des plantes parasites dans les terres labourables, traduit &#8211; je vous le donne en mille &#8211; de l&rsquo;anglais.
