Il en est de m\u00eame pour l\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Impression_tridimensionnelle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">impression 3D<\/a>, invent\u00e9e dans les ann\u00e9es 1980 et utilis\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019origine dans l\u2019industrie pour le prototypage. Le changement majeur, par rapport \u00e0 cette \u00e9poque, est l\u2019accessibilit\u00e9 de ces outils \u00e0 n\u2019importe quel consommateur. En effet, gr\u00e2ce aux am\u00e9liorations techniques effectu\u00e9es au fil des ann\u00e9es, et de certains produits issus de l\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Open_source\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">open source<\/a> hardware comme <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arduino.cc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">l\u2019arduino<\/a>\u00a0(carte utilis\u00e9e pour de nombreuses\u00a0imprimantes), certaines entreprises sont capables de ventre des imprimantes 3D pour des prix allant environ entre 1000 et 4000 euros. Mieux encore, le projet <a href=\"http:\/\/reprap.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RepRap<\/a> met \u00e0 disposition en licence libre\u00a0les plans et le logiciel de plusieurs mod\u00e8les d\u2019imprimante 3D (<a href=\"http:\/\/reprap.org\/wiki\/RepRap_Options\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">voir la page o\u00f9 tous les plans sont disponibles<\/a>), permettant (en th\u00e9orie) \u00e0 n\u2019importe qui de construire sa propre imprimante.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Le projet RepRap : l&rsquo;imprimante 3D en open source<\/h2>\n<p>J\u2019ai r\u00e9cemment d\u00e9couvert le projet RepRap, \u00e0 l\u2019occasion de l\u2019acquisition d\u2019une imprimante 3D. Refroidit par la perspective de construire l&rsquo;imprimante \u00e0 partir de z\u00e9ro, j&rsquo;ai achet\u00e9 un\u00a0kit complet pour 280 euros sur un site chinois bien connu\u00a0: il m\u2019a fallu 3 jours pour la monter, et au vu des pi\u00e8ces imprim\u00e9es, il me reste encore des r\u00e9glages \u00e0 effectuer pour obtenir une qualit\u00e9 digne de ce nom\u2026<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-19354\" src=\"https:\/\/visionarymarketing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/test-imprimante-3d-500x183.png\" alt=\"test-imprimante-3d\" width=\"500\" height=\"183\" srcset=\"https:\/\/visionarymarketing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/test-imprimante-3d-500x183.png 500w, https:\/\/visionarymarketing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/test-imprimante-3d.png 700w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Le projet RepRap n\u00e9 en 2005 est une initiative d\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Adrian_Bowyer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Adrian Bowyer<\/a>, professeur \u00e0 l\u2019universit\u00e9 de Bath. RepRap, qui provient de l\u2019anglais Replication Rapid Prototyper, a pour but de cr\u00e9er une imprimante 3D capable de s\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Autor%C3%A9plication\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">auto-r\u00e9pliquer<\/a> partiellement. Par auto-r\u00e9plication partielle, nous entendons la r\u00e9plication de certaines pi\u00e8ces en plastique, et non les c\u00e2bles, les circuits imprim\u00e9s, l&rsquo;armature de l&rsquo;imprimante etc. Le but est d\u2019augmenter rapidement\u00a0le taux de possession d\u2019imprimantes 3D\u00a0: en th\u00e9orie, puisque les imprimantes 3D issues du projet RepRap son capables de s&rsquo;auto-r\u00e9pliquer, leur croissance devrait \u00eatre exponentielle.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019avantage des RepRap (ce nom d\u00e9signe le projet mais \u00e9galement les imprimantes issues de ce projet), r\u00e9side dans le fait que les plans et le logiciel sont libres. Cela a permis de diminuer consid\u00e9rablement les co\u00fbts de d\u00e9veloppement et de mettre \u00e0 disposition des imprimantes 3D aux consommateurs, \u00e0 des co\u00fbts relativement faibles (en dessous de 500 euros).<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Adrian Bowyer - PopTech 2007\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-mHwRgiTeB4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2>Une communaut\u00e9 RepRap active, cr\u00e9ative et innovante<\/h2>\n<p>Il est ainsi int\u00e9ressant de voir comment une communaut\u00e9 de \u00ab\u00a0makers\u00a0\u00bb a pris le projet en main, cr\u00e9ant de nouvelles pi\u00e8ces pour am\u00e9liorer l\u2019imprimante\u2026 A l\u2019aide ce cette m\u00eame imprimante. On distingue ainsi plusieurs g\u00e9n\u00e9rations de RepRap\u00a0:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_19356\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-19356\" style=\"width: 266px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-19356\" src=\"https:\/\/visionarymarketing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/531px-Prusai3-metalframe-266x300.jpg\" alt=\"La prusa i3 est le mod\u00e8le de RepRap le plus courant (reprap.org)\" width=\"266\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/visionarymarketing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/531px-Prusai3-metalframe-266x300.jpg 266w, https:\/\/visionarymarketing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/531px-Prusai3-metalframe.jpg 531w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 266px) 100vw, 266px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-19356\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">La prusa i3 est le mod\u00e8le de RepRap le plus courant (reprap.org)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>la <a href=\"http:\/\/reprap.org\/wiki\/Darwin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">darwin<\/a>, qui est le premier mod\u00e8le de Reprap\u00a0;<\/li>\n<li>la <a href=\"http:\/\/reprap.org\/wiki\/Mendel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mendel<\/a>, plus l\u00e9g\u00e8re, encore beaucoup utilis\u00e9e\u00a0;<\/li>\n<li>la <a href=\"http:\/\/reprap.org\/wiki\/Prusa_i3\/fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">prusa<\/a>, le mod\u00e8le le plus utilis\u00e9 par la communaut\u00e9\u00a0;<\/li>\n<li>la <a href=\"http:\/\/reprap.org\/wiki\/Rostock\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rostock<\/a>, de forme circulaire, sans plateau amovible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ces innovations issues de la communaut\u00e9 permettent d\u2019am\u00e9liorer la pr\u00e9cision et la qualit\u00e9 des impressions d\u2019ann\u00e9e en ann\u00e9e. Un bel exemple de projet en pleine r\u00e9ussite gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l\u2019open source.<\/p>\n<h2>Un projet destin\u00e9\u00a0\u00e0 prendre de l&rsquo;ampleur<\/h2>\n<p>Si ces imprimantes sont encore aujourd\u2019hui r\u00e9serv\u00e9es aux amateurs de technologies, il se pourrait bien que d\u2019ici quelques ann\u00e9es le mouvement prenne de l\u2019ampleur pour deux raisons.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>D\u2019une part parce qu\u2019une imprimante 3D peut aujourd\u2019hui \u00eatre un investissement rentable\u00a0: selon l\u2019\u00e9tude \u00ab\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0957415813001153\">Life-cycle economic analysis of distributed manufacturinf with open-source 3D printers\u00a0<\/a>\u00bb, une famille utilisant une imprimante 3D pour cr\u00e9er 20 produits domestiques \u00e9conomise en moyenne chaque ann\u00e9e entre 300$ et 2000$. Pour une imprimante de 500 euros, le retour sur investissement s\u2019op\u00e8rerait rapidement.<\/li>\n<li>D\u2019autre part parce que le mouvement s\u2019amplifie\u00a0: si vous \u00eates un lecteur r\u00e9gulier de ce blog, vous avez pu \u00eatre t\u00e9moins d\u2019un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne inh\u00e9rent \u00e0 toute innovation technologique. Prenons l\u2019exemple de l\u2019Internet, puis des r\u00e9seaux sociaux\u00a0: les premiers utilisateurs \u00e9taient des communaut\u00e9s de passionn\u00e9s, de geeks, souvent issus de fonctions techniques. Puis de plus en plus de personnes et d\u2019entreprises ont rejoint ces pionniers, et ces innovations technologiques ont finalement \u00e9t\u00e9 adopt\u00e9es par tous (si on n\u2019en voyait pas vraiment l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat aux d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 90, qui aujourd\u2019hui pourrait vire une semaine sans internet\u00a0?). Il est fort probable que le mouvement des imprimantes 3D suive ce m\u00eame parcours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Quelques barri\u00e8res qui cantonnaient jadis l\u2019imprimante 3D \u00e0 une occupation de geek bricoleur sont \u00e9galement en train de tomber. Le montage du harware et l\u2019installation des <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Logiciel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">software<\/a>\/<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210805190509\/https:\/\/www.commentcamarche.net\/contents\/258-pilote-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">drivers<\/a>\/<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Firmware\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">firmware <\/a>sont une douleur que connaissent (et partagent sur les diff\u00e9rents forums sur ce sujet) les utilisateurs de Reprap. Mais de nouvelles imprimantes d\u00e9j\u00e0 mont\u00e9es et calibr\u00e9es font leur apparition sur le march\u00e9, \u00e9pargnant au novice la recherche de solutions \u00e0 des probl\u00e8mes sans fin. On peut prendre pour exemple les jeunes start-ups comme <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20211225034751\/https:\/\/store.printm3d.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">M3D <\/a>qui proposent des imprimantes 3D ultra simples \u00e0 un prix de 300 dollars seulement. Aussi, on se posait autrefois la question \u00ab\u00a0mais qu\u2019est-ce que je pourrais imprimer avec cela\u00a0? A quoi cela\u00a0me servirait\u00a0?\u00a0\u00bb. On s\u2019aper\u00e7oit que de nouveaux produits fabriqu\u00e9s gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une imprimante 3D font leur apparition tous les jours. On conna\u00eet d\u00e9sormais la proth\u00e8se imprim\u00e9e en 3D qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s m\u00e9diatis\u00e9e, mais d\u2019autres objets sont aussi cr\u00e9\u00e9s\u00a0: des drones, des ventilateurs, des robots, des ustensiles de cuisine\u2026 Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 sa capacit\u00e9 de faire passer une id\u00e9e \u00e0 un prototype physique tr\u00e8s rapidement, l&rsquo;imprimante 3D a permis de faire na\u00eetre une flop\u00e9e de petites innovations du quotidien.\u00a0Le mieux est de se rendre sur la plus grande biblioth\u00e8que de mod\u00e8les 3D (<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210414200122\/https:\/\/www.thingiverse.com\/explore\/popular\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thingiverse.com<\/a>) pour se rendre compte de la quantit\u00e9 de mod\u00e8les 3D\u00a0disponibles et pr\u00eats \u00e0 \u00eatre imprim\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<h2>Une r\u00e9volution \u00e0 venir ?<\/h2>\n<p>Ce n\u2019est pas un hasard si<a href=\"http:\/\/www.3ders.org\/articles\/20130213-president-obama-called-3d-printing-the-potential-to-revolutionize-in-state-of-the-union-address.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Barack Obama disait d\u00e9j\u00e0 en 2013 que l\u2019imprimante 3D \u00e9tait capable de cr\u00e9er une v\u00e9ritable r\u00e9volution<\/a>, citant des entreprises comme Ford, Apple et Intel qui relocalisaient leurs sites de production\u00a0gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 cette capacit\u00e9 de produire localement et moins cher.
