Vonnegut was an amazing satirist who had captured the spirit of the 20th century, and the next one too, amazingly well.<\/p>\n<h2>Technological Innovation: God Bless You, Mr Vonnegut<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_51532\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-51532\" style=\"width: 519px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-51532 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/visionarymarketing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/04\/Kurt-Vonnegut-e1584257546169.jpg\" alt=\"Technological Innovation: God Bless You Mr Vonnegut\" width=\"519\" height=\"340\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-51532\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Technological Innovation: God Bless You Mr Vonnegut!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>His sense of humour will be deeply regretted, as well as his critical view on science (<em>Cat&#8217;s Cradle, 1963<\/em>) and innovation (in his visionary novel <em>Player Piano, 1952<\/em>). So, as parting words, to paraphrase you, God Bless You Mr Vonnegut! and thank you for all these wonderful books.<\/p>\n<p>PS: Incidentally, last night I finished my night-time reading and I was only a few pages from the end of <em>Slaughterhouse-five<\/em> (<em>1969<\/em>), his fascinating account &#8211; through fantasy characters such as Billy Pilgrim namely &#8211; of the insanity of war and the bombing of Dresden at the end of WWII.
