What will be the future of content marketing for the years ahead?

What will be the future of content marketing? I’ve been practising content marketing for 25 years. As a business, we are seven years old and we’ve worked with more than 80 different clients, mostly B2B, which is our speciality and preferably in the I.T. sector and telecoms. When I turned Visionary Marketing into a business, six and a half years ago, I then wrote a piece on my blog describing the landscape for content marketing for the years ahead. It was a great period at that time because it was the time when everything we had been doing for 20 odd years, was generalising throughout the world. Now is the time for an update, for a lot of things are happening now!

That’s right about the time when it started to make sense for most businesses to focus on content marketing and inbound marketing, not just outbound marketing. And it worked beautifully. Now is the time to think about the future of our trade

We sense that now in 2020 and even 2021, things are changing fast and the landscape is completely blurred. I’m not even mentioning the Coronavirus virus because changes preexisted that.  This crisis will make things change even faster than before, however.

Anyway, with this “content marketing scenarios for the Future” webinar, which I am facilitating with the good people from PushEngage in India, we’re just going to review most of the scenarios for the future and a good many things that are changing.

I.e. things that are making our lives easier and more difficult at the same time. It’s not a case of black or white, you know. Things are a lot more complex than that and things are getting a little blurred at the moment.

But at the same time, we can make sense out of this. And we have good reasons to believe that there is a bright future for content marketing ahead of us.
