Strategic
Briefing (1) - Seas of Change - by George
Cox 08/95 [Zip - 55 ko]
This text is the script of an expose that
George Cox did in August 1995. The subject
was Change, hence the title. George Cox is
well known in the UK for having founded the
late Buttler Cox consulting Group. This text
is of great quality and I recommend it to
anyone interested in the subject of change.
Strategic
Briefing (2) - Charting a New Course -
by Andrew Neil 08/95 [Zip - 71 ko]
This is the transcription of the text by
Andrew Neil about the Information Superhighway,
and what it can offer in business and sociological
terms. This is a very powerful text, strewn
with archetypal English humour. Andrew Neil
is a journalist and broadcaster. He edited
the flagship Sunday
Times for many years, and was responsible
for the first satellite television channels
in the UK. These experiences have led him
to become an enthusiast of, and expert on,
the Information Superhighway. He describes
the future of the communications and computing
industries, and the inevitable convergence
with entertainment and publishing. "This establishment
of the Information superhighway will have",
he writes, "a profound impact on both employers
and employees, changing the way we live and
work".
The
Direct Banking Challenge by Virginie Lagoutte
1996 - Middx University [Zip - 90 ko]
Virginie has a strong interest in the rapid
and provocative changes facing the retail
banking sector. Whilst the pace and direction
of change seems to vary somewhat from country
to country, retail banks everywhere are working
vigorously to address new technological, regulatory
and competitive realities. This text addresses
four questions. First (part I), what are the
forms of direct service provision which are
developed in the financial services industry.
Secondly (part II), which factors have caused
the growth of remote delivery systems worldwide.
The third part deals with one of the specific
forms of direct service provision, that is
to say telephone banking. The First direct
case study, in a fourth part, demonstrates
how the Midland Bank developed and implemented
such a new strategy. If you want to know more,
please send Virginie an Email.
